Sim card registration is a legal requirement in Lao PDR. Both prepaid and postpaid users, as well as those with a netSIM, must register their sim cards with their service provider or mobile operator. Registration can be completed at service counters by filling out forms and providing copies of supporting documents. Alternatively, customers can also register their sim cards at designated outlets using the 3Grab outlet application.

Previously limited to physical visits to service center outlets for registration, customers can now conveniently perform sim card self-registrations from the comfort of their homes or any location, whether for themselves or their family members.
